Hope everyone is doing well; we are more than half way through our days of fasting together. It’s been rather amusing to me as we have gone through this fast as a family, some have fasted sunup to sundown, others have fasted sweets, and others in our home have been doing the Daniel fast. With all the different people in the house doing different things it seemed as if we spent more time the first few days complaining about what we couldn’t have, worrying if the other person was sticking to their commitment, and figuring out what ways we could eat without really “cheating”. It is so funny the crazy rational you have when you are hungry! Haha!!
You know sometimes our walk with the Lord can be very similar. We spend more time trying to figure out what we can get away with, gossiping about what other people are doing, and complaining about the things that aren’t going right, than we do just walking in what the Holy Spirit is leading us to do. My encouragement to you as you finish your fast strong is that you hone in on the voice of the Holy Spirit for you. In John 16:13, “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.”
Lets finish our time of prayer and fasting leaning into the Holy Spirit for revelation of who we are in Christ, remember He desires to talk to you through His Word and times of prayer.
