Exchange - July 29th, 2012

It’s good to be back with you this week. We are talking about MAKING AN EXCHANGE, or in other words, TRADING UP FOR SOMETHING BETTER. We are doing a short study on Proverbs 4:1-27 [The New Living Translation] to help us understand more how to make this exchange complete. Complete means to become a doer of the Word of God not just a hearer of the Word of God. You see, when I become a doer of the Word and not just a hearer, I will begin to see positive results of change in my life along with the blessings of God manifesting in my life.

In verses 5, 6 and 7 we are encouraged to get WISDOM from the Word of God, don’t turn your back on it, and getting WISDOM from the Word of God is the wisest thing we can do. WISDOM means GOOD SENSE or GOOD JUDGEMENT. In these verses it is said that if I get this WISDOM it will protect and guard my life from trouble. Here is an example: I Timothy 4:8 [The Message Translation] says, “Workouts in the gymnasium are useful, but a disciplined life in God is far more so, making you fit both today and forever.” After reading that verse WISDOM, GOOD SENSE, GOOD JUDGEMENT would be to do both. Work out in the gym and take the time also to get to know God and develop a disciplined life in Him. Again, it is one thing to read that verse and it is another thing to do it. SCRIPTURE HAS TO BE APPLIED TO MAKE OUR EXCHANGE COMPLETE.

Join us next week as we continue our study and as always, make sure to “Enjoy Another Carolina Day.”
