Last year during the lockdown for covid, Pastor Stephen encouraged us as a Church to love others extravagantly while experiencing unsure times. Together we were able to bless medical workers, first responders, teachers, and other members of the Dare County Community. This time sparked random acts of kindness, extending a helping hand, and putting others first.
While we may want to leave a lot of things from 2020 behind, one thing we want to carry with us into 2021 is the action of loving extravagantly. During the month of February, we are launching a Love Extravagantly initiative.
Each week in February, we as a church, are taking the opportunity to focus on different outreaches. There will be three main focuses for outreach: Love your neighbor, love your community, and love the world. Together we will utilize our resources to bless a group each week, but we also want to encourage you to take action and love extravagantly as well! So here’s what the month looks like:

Week 1 - Love Our Neighbors
(1/31 - 2/6)
Whether that be our literal neighbors, people we work with, or another church member, find a way to bless someone with a random act of kindness. This may look like cooking a meal, buying a gift, or just sending a thoughtful message to someone in your contacts!
Weeks 2 & 3 - Love Our Community (2/7 - 2/20)
During the second week we will focus on blessing teachers and students in Dare County, then in week three we will reach out to social workers and healthcare employees. We encourage you during these weeks to find ways to bless a group of people or someone you know working hard in Dare County. You can also look for local charities to give towards or volunteer your time by serving somewhere in our community!
Week 4 - Love the World
(2/21 - 2/26)
The last week of the month we will be missions minded. When you give at Coastal, your tithes and offerings don’t just stay in Dare County, they go toward missionaries and other outreaches around the globe! At the beginning of the week we will highlight two mission opportunities that we are linking up with as a church. We also encourage you to give toward a charity or mission group that is on your heart!
