Day 6 - STAND ON GOD’S WORD

God has empowered us to stand strong and be courageous, even when we go through difficult circumstances. We must stand firm and not concede any ground that God has given to us and move forward in His plans and purposes!

Father in heaven, thank you for the gift of the Word, both in the form of scripture and of your Son. Please help us to seek your will, your wisdom, and your voice as we read the Word and spend time in your presence. As we seek you over the next 16 days and into 2021, help every moment that we spend in prayer, the Word, and worship intricately lay building blocks that will serve as a solid foundation for our lives for years to come.

Precious Jesus please help us to hear, see, and know you better as we read and immerse ourselves in the Word. Please unlock the mysteries that we are ready to receive and help us to grow in the revelation meant to help us mature as your followers. Jesus, we ask that as we digest and process the Word, that you help us to also live it, acting on the wisdom gained, lessons learned, and guidance given. Help us to not simply be passive readers, but to be active disciples, walking daily in the commission you gave your followers after your resurrection. Infuse us with your love as we make disciples of all nations, sharing the gospel and leading precious souls to your saving power.

Holy Spirit, please help us to overcome the weaknesses of our flesh and the temptations to stay in bed for more sleep, and to tune into media instead of our bibles. Spur us into useful action and good habits as we fast from fleshly activities that distract us from our Creator and Savior. Please help us to begin our day with worship, prayer, and the Word. Remind us in our weakest moments that the more time we spend with you, the more time we seem to have for the things that matter, and that when we remain in you, we find complete peace and rest. Holy Spirit, as we begin each day in the Word, please reveal to us the Word that became flesh and made His dwelling among us. Please reveal to us His glory, the glory of the one and only Son of the Father, who is full of grace and truth. (John 1:14) We offer up these requests not in our names, but in the name above all names, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.
