Day 15: CHANGE OUR PERSPECTIVE

Father God, we love you, we thank you and we glorify you. Thank you for your eternal love and promises that sustain us in every season of life. Thank you for your Word, that tells us hundreds of times not to fear, but to have faith in you. Thank you for showing us through numerous examples in your Word that you are a rewarder of faith. We come to you today as the Body of Christ seeking your help in changing our perspective, from that of the world to Yours. Please help us to view life situations and circumstances from Your eternal perspective; using every moment of challenge, suffering, tragedy, and joy as an opportunity to share the saving message of the Gospel. Please help us to not view life situations through the worldly view of doubt and fear distorting our perspective to see as unbelievers do. Help us to “no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, [help us to] grow to become in every respect the mature body of Him who is the head, that is, Christ” (Ephesians 4:14-16). Help us Father to “rise before dawn and cry for help; awaiting Your words” (Psalm 119:147).

Jesus our Savior, when you walked on this earth, you continually and patiently taught your disciples to look beyond what they saw to what God could accomplish. When you fed the thousands both times, the disciples saw impossible situations, but you taught them that “everything is possible with God” (Matthew 14:15-21, Matthew 15:32-39, Matthew 19:23-26). Jesus, please open our eyes to see God’s possibilities and block our fleshly minds from viewing life through the distorted lens of limitations. Please help us to not allow what we see in the natural to take root in our spirits, snuffing the light of our faith in God’s promises and abilities. Please help us Jesus to not even consider the reasons why God’s promises may not be fulfilled, but to trust that God’s love never fails (1 Corinthians 13:8). Please help us Jesus to be like Abraham, who “never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God” (Romans 4:20).

Holy Spirit, please help us to guard [the Word and the promises that] have been entrusted to us, avoiding worldly and empty chatter and the opposing arguments of what is falsely called “knowledge” which could cause us to go astray from the faith (1 Timothy 6:20-21). Instead, please lead us to “continue in the things we have learned and become convinced of, knowing from whom we have learned them” … for “all scripture is inspired by God and is profitable” (2 Timothy 3:14-17). Holy Spirit please give us and help us to hold onto this new perspective, unfolding Your Words to give us light and understanding (Psalm 119:130). We offer up all of these requests in the precious name of Jesus. Amen.
