Day 9: LIVE ACCORDINGLY

prayerblogs_21days-09.png

Jesus promised us that He would send the Holy Spirit into our lives as our helper, comforter, and guide. After the Holy Spirit fell on the early believers on the Day of Pentecost, they were empowered to preach the gospel, perform miraculous healings, bringing hope and freedom wherever they went. The same Holy Spirit that fell on the early believers is alive and present in us today!

Father God, we come to you today with prayers of thanks. Thank you for honoring Jesus’ request, by sending us the Helper (John 14:16). Thank you, Father, for the amazing gift of the Holy Spirit, for His truth that resonates through us, testifying about Jesus (Luke 11:13, John 15:26). Please Father, help us to block out the noise of the world, so that we can hear the Spirit’s still, small voice (1 Kings 19:12). Please help us to honor our bodies as a temple of God, with which the Spirit dwells in, not dragging Him into sin, but honoring Him by walking in holiness (1 Corinthians 3:16).

Holy Savior, thank you for requesting from your Father the great gift of the Holy Spirit. Thank you for sending Him to seal us for the day of redemption. Please help us Jesus to keep our focus on Him, and to not grieve Him (Ephesians 4:30). As you led so many as the Way, the Truth and Life while on earth, please help us Jesus to keep our eyes on Your Father and on You, through the power of the Holy Spirit, and help blind us to worldly things that could lead us astray.

Holy Spirit, since you have been poured out upon us, please help us to not only prophesy, and dream dreams, and see visions, but to focus completely on You, so that we may understand them, and walk in Your will as to how to communicate the meaning so as to build up Your church (Joel 2:28). Holy Spirit, please teach us all things, and bring to our remembrance all that Jesus has said to us (John 14:26). Holy Spirit, please help us to walk in the power that you have given us, to be witnesses of Jesus to the remotest parts of the earth whether in human form or by prayer or both (Acts 1:8). Please help us to worship the Father in spirit and truth (John 4:23-24). And please help us to see the world through God’s focus, so that we are praying for the right things, for His will to be done. We offer up all of these requests in the precious name of Jesus Christ. Amen
