Expectation of Abundance

Heavenly Father, we offer up a sacrifice of praise to You, the fruit of our lips that gives thanks to Your name. (Hebrews 13:15) We praise You, we worship You, we thank You, and we bless You, with all that is within us. Thank You Lord for All of Your blessings upon us, for pardoning our iniquities, healing our diseases, redeeming our lives from the pit; for crowning us with loving kindness and compassion. Thank You good, good Father for satisfying our years with good things, and for renewing our youth like the eagle. (Psalm 103:1-5) We come to You today with thankful contemplation. As we look back on the week we thank You for all that You have provided - strength, rest, renewal, enlightenment, breakthrough, humbling, conviction, forgiveness, restoration, focus, knowledge, wisdom, peace, joy and love.

Father, Your precious Son Jesus describes Himself as the Gate, allowing all who enter through Him to be saved; coming in and going out, finding pasture, having life, and having it to the full. (John 10:7-10) Please help us today to meditate on the full significance of that promise, not only in terms of our eternity, but in our daily lives. Please help us to fully appreciate the abundance of life You have given us through Your precious Son, so that we may live our daily lives in peace, thankfulness, praise and joy; not just in times of prayer and fasting, but every day of our lives. Please open our eyes and understanding so that we do not focus on the negativity of the world, but the daily blessings from You. Please help us Father to not only seek Your abundance, but to expect it and give thanks for it.

Father, as we transition from focusing on the hunger we have for a deep, meaningful and loving relationship with you ourselves, to that same desire for those who once saw and no longer see, please fill us with compassion. Please help us Father to walk with Christ into this coming week being firmly rooted and built up in You, established in our faith, and overflowing with gratitude. (Colossians 2:6-7) Thank You Father for watching for us, for seeing us, for Your great compassion for us, and for running toward us to embrace and kiss us while we were still a long way off. (Luke 15:20) Please help us to grasp Father, how wide, and long and high and deep Your love is - to know this love that surpasses knowledge - so that we may be filled to the measure of all Your fullness. (Ephesians 3:18-19) We offer up these prayers in the Holy name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
