Sent Here By God

Hello Father,

We come to You today with thankfulness in our hearts, with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs playing in our mind. As we meditate on your goodness today, please help this music to make its way from our minds to our hearts to our lips in joyful praise to You. As we come into Your presence, please bring to mind Christ’s Words, so that they may richly dwell in us, and draw us closer into relationship with You. (Colossians 3:16) Father, please help us to hear the voice of Jesus today, so that we know Him and follow Him. Father, reveal to us Jesus’ words, “My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” (John 10:27-30) Father, please let us feel Your powerful touch today as You hold us in Your mighty hands.

As we spend the day in Your presence Lord, help us to look at the demands in our life with wiser eyes. Please help us to clearly differentiate between the things we should be dedicating our time to, and the things that are keeping us “busy” and distracted from what You want us to do. Please help us Father to make good decisions, stripping away, stepping away, and ending the things in our life that our preventing us from completely fulfilling the job You have given us to do. Help us to meditate today on the truth that we are not here by accident, but were sent - by You - on purpose - for a purpose. Please lift the veil from our eyes today to see the people You place in our path as You see them. Show us how You want us to love them, serve them, and be a witness for Jesus to them.

Loving Father, help us to walk in holy love today in all of our interactions with others, and most especially in our prayer time with You. Help us to love patiently, kindly, humbly. Help us to honor others in our thoughts and speech, helps us to seek what is best for those around us and not try to position the best things for ourselves. Help us to not be easily angered, to not keep a record of those who have wronged us or the wrongs they have committed. Help us to pray for those under the influence of evil, and to rejoice in all truth. Help us to protect, trust, hope, and persevere. Show us that love never fails. (1 Corinthians 13:4-8) Cast out all of our fears today through Your perfect love. (1 John 4:18) In the holy name of Jesus we pray. Amen
