Get Alone With God

We give thanks to You Lord, for You are good, Your loving kindness is everlasting. Save us, O God of our salvation, gather and deliver us from from the things of this world, to give thanks to Your holy name, and glory in Your praise. Blessed be the Lord our God, from everlasting to everlasting. (1 Chronicles 16:34-36)

Holy Spirit, Your God breathed Word describes to us so many examples of Jesus going off to pray:

“He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray; and when it was evening, He was there alone.” Matt. 14:23

“It was at this time that He went off to the mountain to pray, and He spent the whole night in prayer to God.” Luke 6:12

“In the early morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house, and went away to a secluded place, and was praying there.” Mark 1:35

“In the days of His flesh, He offered up both prayers and supplications with loud crying and tears to the One able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His piety.” Hebrews 5:7

Holy Spirit, please take us by the hand and guide us into quiet times of prayer in Your presence. Please create desire in our hearts to carve out consistent time with You and self-discipline in our flesh to do it daily. Please help us to model the example of Jesus, praying at night, in the early morning, finding secluded places, and pouring out our hearts in fervent prayer to our Father.

Holy Spirit, we continue to offer up prayers for the lost, the millions of souls across the World who do not yet know Jesus or have not yet received Him. As they cry out for justice, for help, for relief from their suffering, we ask that You place loving Christians in their lives that can lead them to the saving love of Jesus Christ. Please send more workers into the fields to reap the great harvest of souls that You have already prepared. (Matthew 9:37-38) We make all of these requests in the name of Jesus. Amen.
