Making Prayer a Priority
O Lord our God, We give thanks to You forever. Our souls sing praise to You and will not be silent. You have turned our mourning into dancing, You have exchanged our pain for gladness. (Psalm 30:11-12)
Holy Spirit, Your Word tells us to pray in the prayer language You have gifted to us, on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests, being alert and praying not just for ourselves but for all the Lord’s people. (Ephesians 6:18) Jesus, the Word, told us that whatever we ask for in prayer will be ours if we believe that we have received it. (Mark 11:24) Our Great Helper, please help us to make prayer a priority not only during times of corporate prayer or crisis, but every day for the rest of our lives. Help us to see and seek prayer as a loving conversation with our Father, our precious friend, and our greatest Comforter. Please help us to go to prayer in moments of joy, boredom, fear, excitement, struggle, temptation, and every day mundane events, seeking to share every moment of our lives with a Great God who loves us and wants to hear it from us. Please help us to talk to You so frequently it becomes second nature to turn to You for and in everything first. Please help us Holy Spirit to be joyful in hope, patient in affliction and faithful in prayer. (Romans 12:12)
Spirit of the Lord, we hold up in supplication the lost of this world whom Jesus came to seek and to save. We humbly ask the Father to call them, for Jesus to advocate for them, and for You to speak to them, touching their hearts and minds and changing the course of their lives from darkness to light and from destruction to life. In the Holy Name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.
