God Glorifying Prayer
“Stand up and praise the Lord Your God, for He lives from everlasting to everlasting!” “May Your glorious name be praised! May it be exalted above all blessing and praise!” “You alone are the Lord. You made the skies and the heavens and all the stars. You made the earth and the seas and everything in them. You preserve them all, and the angels of heaven worship You. You are the Lord God, (…) You have done what You have promised, for You are always true to Your Word.” Nehemiah 9:5-8
Holy Spirit, we open our hearts in prayer today with a focus on the glory of God. “For God who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” 2 Corinthians 4:6 “Jesus IS the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of His nature, and He upholds the universe by the word of His power. After making purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.” Hebrews 1:3 “And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.” 2 Corinthians 3:18 So whether we eat or drink, or whatever we do, let’s do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31.
Spirit of Christ, our Great Intercessor, we cry out to You again for the lost around the world, the millions who are blindly following false religions, no religions, or the religion of self worship. We pray for the millions who are suffering so greatly from disease, famine, war, persecution, and don’t yet know they have the love of an amazing Father, a precious Savior, and You to turn to for love, salvation, and comfort. Jesus tells us in the Word - “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with Me.” Revelation 3:20 We humbly request Lord that today You knock louder and more urgently. Holy Spirit please take their hand and lead them to the door. Please remove the scales from their ears so they can hear the knock. Please remove the pride from their hearts so they realize their need to invite Jesus in. Please remove the blinders from their eyes so they can see Jesus when they open the door. Holy Spirit, please save the lost. We offer up all of these prayers in the name of the lamb of God, Jesus the Christ. Amen
