Word of God Prayers
Lord, we give thanks to You! We call upon Your name, we freely share Your great deeds with others. We offer up to You today Psalms of praise, talking of Your wondrous works! Glory to Your holy name. Let our hearts rejoice for seeking You Lord! We seek You and Your strength, we seek Your face forever. (1 Chronicles 16:8-11)
Spirit of Christ, our Guide, Your Word tells us that the Father has specific plans for us. Plans to prosper us and not to harm us, plans to give us hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11) We come to You today asking that You align us with those plans by revealing important aspects of them, and by helping us to understand that God’s plans for us are so much greater than the limited plans we have for ourselves. Please reveal to us in Your Word and through prayer what we are supposed to be doing for Him and for others as we walk in love. Please help us to transition from praying for the things we want in this world, to praying for support for what God wants us to accomplish. Please help us to keep our eyes not on the treasures of this world, but treasures in heaven. Help us to treasure what the Father desires and wills for us, and bring our hearts, minds and wills in alignment with them. (Matthew 6:19-21)
Spirit of Truth, Witness of Christ, our heart’s desire and prayer is that the lost might be saved. (Romans 10:1) We pray today for all of the lost around the world, those we know and millions that we don’t. Please open their eyes, and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith in Christ Jesus. (Acts 26:18) We offer up all of these prayers in the name of Jesus. Amen.
