Day 3 - STAND FIRM
God has empowered us to stand strong and be courageous, even when we go through difficult circumstances. We must stand firm and not concede any ground that God has given to us and move forward in His plans and purposes!
Our Father who reigns in heaven, blessed be Your name. We come to you today with prayers of thanks for Your great power, and for giving us all of the tools we need to stand firm in spiritual battle. Thank you for equipping us with full armor; the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, shoes to help speed us on to proclaim the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God (Ephesians 6:10-17). Guide us to prepare ourselves for every challenge of 2021 by fully suiting up with your armor, persevering in prayer for the church of believers and praying in the Spirit at all times. (Ephesians 6:18).
Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, thank you for leading us into battle with great confidence and perfect peace because You have already won the war. Thank you for being truthful with us, preparing us by explaining that in this fallen world we will have trouble, but by encouraging and emboldening us with the truth that we have no reason to fear because You have already overcome the world (John 16:33).
Holy Spirit, please continually remind us that we have no reason to fear, grow discouraged or give in. Help us to not give up any ground, because You have promised us over and over again that You will fight for us: Deuteronomy 3:22 “Do not be afraid of them; the Lord your God himself will fight for you.” Deuteronomy 20:4 “For the Lord your God is the One who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.” Jeremiah 1:19 “They will fight against you but will not overcome you for I am with you and will rescue you, declares the Lord.” Thank you, Holy Spirit, for inspiring the written Word of the bible giving us countless examples of God causing the enemy to fight itself and leading Your people to victory. From Jericho’s falling walls to disciples being rescued by angels, we are thankful for Your power, Your strength, Your comfort, Your mercy, and Your Love. We truly have no reason to fear or back down from any spiritual battle because You are with us. “Fear not, for I am with you, be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10). In the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
